FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A local northeast Fresno restaurant is using an overnight break-in to shed some optimism on Saturday.

“Together we can make this weekend amazing!” said the Phoenician Garden Mediterranean Bar and Grill in a post to social media Saturday after discovering their restaurant was broken into.

The restaurant, located at First Street and Herndon Avenue reported that a person allegedly broke a window to get inside Friday night.

“Surprise, they didn’t stick around for dinner!” the post read.

Surveillance video reveals a person pacing through the restaurant searching through cabinets with a crowbar and flashlight in their hands.

Despite the break-in, the restaurant is using the opportunity to invite the public to try their food and check out their promos.

“It’s quite the steal, but without the breaking and entering! Feel free to come in the front door,” the restaurant said.

The Phoenician says while a window is broken, they believe the alarm going off in the store may have prevented anything from being stolen.

“We may be down a window, but our spirits are soaring.”

YourCentralValley has reached out to the Fresno Police Department for further details regarding this incident, including suspect information, but they did not respond in time for this article’s publication.
