TONIGHT IF EVERYTHING GOES WELL. BUT FOR THE SECOND DAY IN THE ROW, HERE’S WHAT CUSTOMERS ARE DEALING WITH. LITTLE TO NO WATER FLOWING FROM THE TAPS. I ATTEMPTED TO START TO JUST GRAB A COFFEE MUG AND THE FIVE GALLONS OF WATER THAT WE WERE ALLOWED TO GET AT THE WATER BUFFALO HERE IN BOBTOWN AT THE FIREHALL AND COME OVER AND START TO RINSE OFF THINGS AND WASH A FEW DISHES. BUT THAT DOESN’T WORK AS WELL AS ACTUAL RUNNING WATER BECAUSE OF HEALTH CONCERN. IT’S BEEN YEARS SINCE DAN VASTAG DRANK THE WATER INSIDE OF HIS BOBTOWN HOME, BUT NO WATER AT ALL IS A COMPLETE DIFFERENT STORY. IT’S HORRIBLE. I SHOWER EVERY MORNING AND THIS IS. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. YES, DAILY LIFE IS SEVERELY IMPACTED. YOU KNOW, CAN’T COOK, CAN’T CLEAN, CAN’T WASH CLOTHES OR DISHES. THE SAME GOES FOR STACY BARRETT. HER SON HASN’T HAD SCHOOL FOR THE PAST TWO DAYS. IT’S A NIGHTMARE. I HAVE TO CALL OFF WORK BECAUSE NO SCHOOL SO. YEAH, IT’S IT’S VERY DISAPPOINTING. A HUGE LET DOWN FOR THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY. OTHER THAN RECEIVING AN AUTOMATED PHONE MESSAGE ABOUT A BOIL WATER ADVISORY TUESDAY, EAST DUNKARD WATER AUTHORITY CUSTOMERS SAY THEY RECEIVED ZERO WARNING WHEN IT SHUT OFF A FEW HOURS LATER. NO NOTICE FOR THE SHUT OFF. WE WERE KIND OF LEFT IN THE DARK. THE DEP TOLD PITTSBURGH’S ACTION NEWS FOUR. IT ISSUED A FIELD ORDER EARLIER IN THE WEEK IN RESPONSE TO A NUMBER OF VIOLATIONS. PENS, THE AUTHORITY, SAID THE PLANT EXPERIENCED A BREAKDOWN IN THE TREATMENT. EAST DUNKARD WATER BOARD CHAIRMAN GERRY DORSEY TOLD ME CREWS ARE WORKING ON THE FILTERS, DRAINING AND CLEANING THE CLARIFIER. ONCE THAT IS DONE, THEY WILL REFILL AND ADD PROPER CHEMICALS. THEN THEY WILL START FEEDING THE WATER TO THE FILTERS AND SEE HOW THEY PERFORM. THE RESIDENTS SAID THEY STILL HAVE YET TO HEAR ANY OF THOSE UPDATES AND WATER ISSUES ARE AN ONGOING PROBLEM. THERE ARE NO CALLS THAT COME IN TO INFORM US OF WHAT’S HAPPENING AND WHERE WE STAND OR WHAT TO EXPECT. EVERYBODY’S JUST KIND OF LEFT GUESSING. I FEEL LIKE IT’S ALMOST INEXCUSABLE THAT WE DON’T HAVE THE ABILITY TO HAVE SAFE DRINKING WATER FROM OUR TAP. IT’S IT’S FEELING THIRD WORLD ISH AND IT’S UNFAIR. YEAH, IT’S BORDERLINE CRIMINAL TO ME RIGHT NOW. IT’S UNCLEAR IF THERE WILL BE ANOTHER WATER DISTRIBUTION, IF THE WATER IS NOT RESTORED
