Auto Show Rolls Into Newtown: Heres What You Need To Know

Today’s show will bring hundreds of antique and classic cars to historic State Street in Newtown Borough.



NEWTOWN BOROUGH, PA — Classic and antique cars and trucks, representing a century’s worth of automotive history, will roll into Newtown today (Sunday, July 28) for the highly-anticipated Newtown Antique & Classic Auto Show.

Presented by the Newtown Business Association, this year’s event takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on State Street with the town’s historic streetscape providing the backdrop for the show.

The annual show is a staple of the summer season in Newtown, drawing thousands of spectators for an impressive display of classic and antique automobiles. Car enthusiasts from near and far will be showcasing their prized vehicles and competing for trophies in 14 categories, ranging from pre-1959 models to trucks, Corvettes, and more.

State Street will be transformed into a vibrant display of automotive history, offering a unique opportunity for attendees to view beautifully restored and preserved vehicles up close. The festive atmosphere promises fun for the whole family, with plenty of photo opportunities and chances to learn about the rich heritage of classic cars.

Show chairman Dan Petty encourages everyone “not to miss out on this unforgettable event that celebrates the beauty and craftsmanship of classic automobiles. Whether you’re a classic car aficionado or simply looking for a fun day out, the Newtown Antique & Classic Auto Show has
something for everyone.”

Pedestrian Alert

There will be extra pedestrian traffic in the area Washington Avenue and State Street. Motorist are asked to be aware of pedestrians in the crosswalk and to use caution. Road closures and parking restrictions will be in place so allow extra time.

Parking Restrictions

Beginning at 6:30 p.m. there will be no parking on the following streets:

  • State Street between Centre Avenue and Jefferson Street on both sides of street.
  • Jefferson Street between North State and Liberty Streets, both sides.
  • Greene Street between North State Street and Liberty Street, both sides.

What’s closed

  • Beginning at 7 a.m. State Street between Centre Avenue and Jefferson Street will be closed.

What’s open

  • The Jefferson Street and the Washington Avenue bridges will remain open to traffic.
  • Local businesses will be open during the show.
  • The Newtown Borough Municipal Parking Lots will be open for the event and for local businesses.
