5 great ways to show off your ride at Flint-area car shows this summer

FLINT, MI – Summer’s here, and it’s almost time to cruise down the newly-laid bricks on Saginaw Street with the top down.

Leading up to Flint’s biggest annual celebration of the city’s vehicle history – Back to the Bricks – here are five ways to show off your ride or check out some cool cars this summer:

Sloan Museum Auto Fair and Car Show

The 52nd annual Sloan Museum Auto Fair will take place Saturday, June 22, and Sunday, June 23, on the Flint Cultural Center grounds.

There will be live music, DJs, hundreds of show cars, antique tractors and classic motorcycles on display.

Pre-registration for the event has closed, but those looking to participate can register in person at the event on either day. Vehicle gates are open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Tickets are $10. Children ages 11 or younger get in free.

Trendsettas Corvette Club Car Show

Flint’s Trendsettas Corvette Club will host its 14th annual car show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday at Hallwood Plaza, 4813 Clio Road.

More than 160 awards will be given out to registered vehicles, including best female car, best truck and trailer setup and sponsor’s choice.

All cars, trucks and motorcycles are welcome. Pre-registration is $25, and gate-entry registration is $30. Register at this link.

Back to the Bricks Tune-Up Parties

Back to the Bricks will host six tune-up parties leading up to the flagship Back to the Bricks celebration in downtown Flint this year.

Tune-up parties will take place at The Hub in Davison on Aug. 5, the Flushing A on Aug. 6, Linden on Aug. 7, Fenton on Aug. 8, Mundy Miracle Commons on Aug. 9 and Mt. Morris on Aug. 10.

Back to the Bricks Car Show and Rolling Cruise

The 20th anniversary Back to the Bricks celebration will take place from Aug. 12 to Aug. 17 in Flint. Car shows are planned at Birch Run Speedway, US-23 Drive-In, and in downtown Flint.

Registration for all events in August is open and available on the Back to the Bricks website.

Rolling cruises begin in downtown Flint and travel south on Saginaw Street into Grand Blanc.

Buick on the Bricks

Honoring the history of General Motors in the Vehicle City, Buicks on the Bricks will take place Saturday, Aug. 17, at Factory One, 303 W. Water St.

This year’s Buicks on the Bricks will feature brass and nickel era cars from the early 1900s.
